The Music
Certain musicians have an element of DaDA to their style. I find them so you don't have to.
| Schizophonic |
 |
Combustible Edison This is the real thing: early 90's loungy electronica meant for champagne and bubbles. The funny thing is, it comes across Dada. Irreverent with humor. |
| Odelay |
 |
Beck His grandfather was one of the original members of Fluxus. The Odelay album is his most dada-esque album. "Mutations" has a nice trip-hoppy feel, but I leave it off of here because, you know, trip-hop != Dada! |
| Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band |
 |
Yoko Ono You just knew she'd be here, huh? A founding member of Fluxus, Ono's style has always been intriguing, annoying, controversial, and cutting-edge all at the same time. What's more dada than that? |
| Homework |
 |
Daft Punk These guys are interesting in the fact that while their music is not so dada, their attitude is. Robot suits. Alter egos. Spurning the adoring attention of MTV. "Homework" mixes intriguing dance/house beats with found sounds along the styles of drum-and-bass, but adds a little something else that pushes Daft Punk beyond the bourgeoisie. |
| Discovery |
 |
Daft Punk "Discovery" is another dada entry by our favorite French duo. First, take all the standard Euro-trash dance beats, then add some alter egos and irreverance. There. You've got "Discovery". |
